From 22 to 26 June 2026, the capital of Kazakhstan hosted a significant international event that broadened the horizons of culture and science-the seminar entitled «Digitalization and Development of the Museums of the Republic of Kazakhstan ». The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), and the Coordination and Methodological Center for the Development of Museums of Kazakhstan.
The large-scale educational platform brought together nearly 100 specialists from republican and regional museums across Kazakhstan, providing them with an opportunity to explore the latest trends in contemporary museum practice. Researchers from the Bozok Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve also took part in the seminar, attentively listening to presentations on innovative approaches to the high-quality digitalization of museum collections, international experience in developing virtual museums, and modern technologies aimed at enriching museum exhibitions and increasing visitor engagement.
During the five-day exchange of experience, distinguished experts from the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums of the Republic of Türkiye delivered informative lectures. Among them were Ali Haydar Atalar, Director of the 15 July Democracy Museum; Gülşeher Gürgen, Museum Researcher at the Department of Museums; and Dr. Perihan Dönertaş, archaeologist of the «Legacy for the Future» Department. They shared advanced practices and current trends in the museum sector of Türkiye. The Turkish experts also became acquainted with the rich historical collections and museum activities of Kazakhstan and exchanged valuable ideas with participants on strengthening cultural and scientific cooperation between the two countries, as well as implementing joint international research projects.
These fruitful days, during which the cultural diplomacy of two nations sharing common roots and history harmoniously merged with modern technologies, will undoubtedly pave the way for major international exhibitions and remarkable collaborative projects in the future. May the brotherhood and cultural ties between our countries continue to grow stronger, and may our shared path remain united.
