On April 9-10, 2026, a National Roundtable on the Preservation and Development of Intangible Cultural Heritage was held in Almaty in accordance with the 2025-2026 Cooperation Plan under UNESCO. The important event was chaired by Aida Balayeva, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Minister of Culture and Information. Representatives of the UNESCO Secretariat and Regional Bureau, as well as Kazakhstani experts, took part in the roundtable discussions.The event also featured presentations by Zubaida Suraganova, a researcher at the Institute of State and Law, and Saule Burbayeva, Chief Researcher of the Bozok Museum-Reserve. They shared their extensive experience accumulated over many years in the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage. Over the past seven years, the staff of the Bozok Museum-Reserve has been carrying out systematic work aimed at promoting national values. In particular, they have organized traditional ethnographic events such as Kymyzmuryndyk, Sholpy Tagu, and Sirge Jiyar, making a significant contribution to their popularization, revival, and preservation within contemporary society.
